Wii Fit Plus coming Oct 4. Time to upgrade
Wii Fit is an awesome 'game' that somehow we got a little bored off.
We got the game and board the day it came out , used it a whole lot in the first three months but since then it gets used infrequently.
That's likely to change come October 4th as Wii Fit Plus is released.
It's just more of the good stuff that attracted us to Wii Fit in the first place, just refreshed and improved. And oh yeah and at a list price of under $20, it's cheap too.

Dead Space Extraction - Wii - Is it better than the Conduit?
Dead Space Extraction has now been out for a day, and the early review are all very good.
Metacritic has given the game a total score of 82 based on 19 critic reviews. Average users review are now about 9. That's astounding.
So critically this is a better rated game then the Conduit, but this game doesn't have the same kind of multi-player in it.
That's where this game is different. This game is all about the story and the depth of the story.
It's not just a point and shoot the bad aliens, there is a real story here that makes this game work, according to every review i've seen so far.
It also means that at some point this game will be played out and the price on the shelves will drop, dramatically. Wait three months and this game will be in the $19.99 value bins, no matter how good it is because all the hard-core gamers will have already finished the game.

NHL 2K10 : Great Game if You Don't Use WiiMotion Plus Controler. Shooting is really hard.
We got a copy of NHL 2K10 from 2k sport the other week. The first week of gameplay was the most frustrating experience we've had with a sports game.
The simple act of shooting the damn puck wasn't easy or intuitive. The printed manual for the game is useless and the in-game tutorial omits instructions on how to shoot.
We looked through forum after forum and found no acceptable answer ..except for one.
Disable WiiMotion Plus.
Without the Wii Motion Plus this game works. Shooting the puck is a simple flick of the wrist and not some mystical imposible contortion.
The actual gameplay is slick, though a little challenging. Scoring goals is not easy.
The Mii skills section -- which is something that other early reviews of the game were keen on - TOTALLY SUX AND ISN'T PLAYABLE. It's soo disappointing. We thought that the Mii part would be a great/easy way for kids to get into the game but 2K totally f*cked it up.
This is however the ONLY hockey game on the Wii so what choice do we have? The game is workable enough that it can be fun, but we're hoping that the Braniacs that run 2K get their shit together and make a better game next year that anyone can actually play right out of the box.
