Yes we can admit it - we bought the first Dancing with the Stars for Wii game. We owned it for about two months then sold it because it was too boring and too predictable and didn't have a great amount of replay value.
Well Activision now things it's got a better version with Dancing with the Stars : We Dance - where they claim to have improved the controls and added new characters.
Dancing with the Stars: We Dance! includes all-new stars such as season five champion Helio Castroneves, actress Jennie Garth, season four runner-up Joey Fatone, and season two champ, Drew Lachey. Players will also be able to boogie down with new professional dancers like Derek Hough and his sister, two-time "Dancing with the Stars" champion, Julianne Hough. In addition to some hot new dancers and celebrities there will be chart-busting megahits including "Bootylicious", "Push It", "Mony Mony", "She Bangs", and "Joker and the Thief."
eBay pricing is currently around $39.99 but expect to get this for $20 or less within a month.

Strong Bad Episode 3: Baddest of the Bands (Telltale Games, 1 player, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older - Alcohol Reference, Crude Humor, Mild Cartoon Violence, Mild Suggestive Themes, 1,000 Wii Points): Rock and roll! Hurting for cash, Strong Bad sets out to dominate the “Battle Royale of the Bands.” Can he rule the stage and win the big prize? Or will he be drowned out by the competition? Find out in this high-voltage episode.
Art Style: ROTOHEX™ (Nintendo, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 600 Wii Points): Use colored triangular panels to create a vibrant mosaic of stained glass in Art Style: ROTOHEX. As triangles fall from the top of the screen, rotate them to group six panels of the same color and create a matching hexagon, or HEX. Once the HEX has been formed, it will disappear, allowing the existing panels to shift and more panels to fill the playing field. A clear-cut goal and two different styles of intuitive controls allow you to focus solely on the game play-which is vital, as the playing field will be full of panels before you know it. With multiple modes (unlock more as you progress further in SOLO mode), special item panels at your disposal, and the ability to play cooperatively or competitively with a friend, there will always be another HEX to create.
Guitar Hero World Tour for the Wii is out this coming week and the trailer at least sure looks good.
Big additions are obviously the fact that now the game looks more like Rock Band - but beyond that the Guitar itself is now improved with a new slider function which looks really cool.
And oh yeah - downloadable song content. How cool is that?
We've all played the board game monopoly at some point. Digital versions have never done really well though have they?
EA is now trying to change that with the Monopoly for Wii game - which adds elements that the board game could never have.
"Richest Mode" allows players to complete a game of MONOPOLY in 30 minutes or less. Adding to the fun are 12 mini-games that have been designed to keep players engaged and entertained throughout gameplay such as "Get out of Jail" where you saw prison cell bars to escape and "Take a Ride on the Reading" which challenges gamers to stop on-time at each train station.
"It's exciting for EA to bring the world's most popular board game to interactive life on a wide variety of gaming platforms," said Chip Lange, General Manager and Vice President of EA Casual Entertainment in a statement. "We've brought a classic game that families have been enjoying for generations into the digital arena, giving players a new way to rediscover and experience their favorite board game."
The Wii is an awesome platform for retro gamers already - with all the old NES, N64 and GameCube games available for it.
But it soon could be getting another big boost - the ability to play all 8,000 Sony Playstation one games!! That's something that the PS3 can't do (PS2 is however backwards compatible).
Right now ISO files are stored on the SD card. DVD and USB implementation is planned.
Wii Music is finally here and on store shelves today!!
Wii Music brings more than 60 instruments to the console. To play each instrument, you use the motion-sensing abilities of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers to mimic the real-life motions of instruments: bow a violin, strike a vibraphone or pluck a sitar. The controllers know if you’re playing fast or slow, hitting the notes gently or really jamming. Musical novices can understand how to play and start carrying a tune instantly, while people who are really into music will have fun creating mixes, rearranging tunes and sharing them with friends.
Wii Music includes a variety of mini-games that let players create music videos, conduct an orchestra, play in a handbell choir, test their musical ears or even rock out on a virtual drum set. Drum Mode lets you use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers as drumsticks to play like you have a real-life drum set. Drummers who purchase Wii Fit separately also can use the Wii Balance Board™ accessory as virtual pedals for the bass drum and the hi-hat cymbal.
"Music is a universal language that inspires and moves people,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing in a statement. "Wii Music provides a fun way for people to play together and be entertained while building a fundamental understanding of musical themes and rhythms. Wii Music can motivate people to learn real instruments or enhance their appreciation of musical performances."
Wario Land Shake It Up hinges on players successfully beating the bosses at the end of each area map.
Beating the bosses isn't all that easy is it? Well not unless you figure out some kind of strategy to beat them. So we here as WiiLikeToPlay.net are going to help you out with our tips on how we got through the first three bosses.
Area 1: This 'stone' dude looks tough but it's all about timing. When the level first starts notice when steam comes out his nose - that's signal that he's coming down so make sure to jump!! Once the head is on the ground use button 1 (the punch) and hit the blue bulge. Repeat that a few times and you'll have Boss severely weakened. Once the boss shed the bottom bulge and the two side spinining things - jump on top of one - then jump on top of the boss head. Now jump up and then down with the down arrow a few times. Congrats - you've beat the area one boss!
FIFA 08 sucked..but FIFA 09 looks pretty sharp and it's even got online play too..
the 8x8 mini game - which you play with Mii - is a game in and of itself. No question this is the easiest and most playable version yet of the FIFA franchise from EA.
Doesn't it suck to have to keep buying peripherals for different games?
Looks like current Guitar Hero III hardware owners won't have to trade up to use their axe on Rock Band 2 - at least that's what WiiFanBoy is reporting.
Good news overall - though i wonder if i could use my Guitar Hero III axe for Wii music....
There are plenty of early reviewers that don't like Wii Music - then there is MTV. In the best early review yet of Wii Music MTV compares the new Nintendo Game to Guitar Hero and Rock Band.
It's quite a combination: that "Wii Music" song list, the emphasis on creativity over competition, the shaking-centric controls, the silly graphics and non-game-like design. It is easy to conclude that "Wii Music" might not seem as cool to players of "Rock Band" and "Guitar Hero." But the Wii once didn't seem as cool as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The latest EA Sports All Play release is now out for the Wii with NBA Live 09 All Play.
NBA Live 09 follows Madden 09 and Tiger Woods 09 - no NHL 09 for the Wii (shame on you EA!!). While Madden 09 and Tiger Woods 09 are both great games on the Wii, NBA Live isn't -
Game play and graphics just aren't all that fluid are they? Still there isn't a better NBA games currently on the Wii - so if you don't have an XBOX 360 or a PS3 you'll just have to settle won't you?

Simple party games are a key staple for all Wii gamers - and Wii Party from Midway has been a favorite for us since it first came out. Now Game Party 2 is out with 5 new games to enjoy.
Game Party 2 features new games like Bean Bags, Horseshoes, Lawn Darts, Puck Bowling and includes classics like Skill Ball, Darts and Hoop Shoot.
"The success of the original Game Party was a result of consumers looking for fun, family-oriented party games for the Wii," said Miguel Iribarren, senior vice president - publishing, Midway in a statement. "Game Party 2 expands and enhances the original, leveraging Midway's rich arcade heritage, and delivering more games that are a ton of fun and easy to pick-up and play with friends."
The most basic of all moves with Wiimote is shaking. It's also intuitive and fun. Wario land is a basic/classic kind of Nintendo maze kind of game but the key motion is to shake - making this an ideal game for younger gamers.
Nintendo's Wii Fit comes as part of the balance board package - but for some i guess it's not enough and over time - sure a bit boring too.
So now we've got a replacement for Wii Fit - but still using the balance board - it's Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009 - which is set for release on October 28th.
It's got a bit more focus on multi-player (wii fit has little) and it's got a trainer that is more REAL than the fake woman/man trainer in Wii Fit.
Pricing is looking pretty reasonable too - with pre-order at Amazon running at $36.99 (and one of the top five Wii games period on Amazon).
We bought Deca Sports a few months ago and it has been a constant favorite ever since. Not all of the games are great but a few really are.
The crossbow shooting is great fun and something that is fun for both adults and kids.
Curling - surprisingly is great fun too
AND Soccer is also pretty solid in this game too.
Frankly we had no idea that this game was so popular - but it really isn't much of a surprise. The games publisher - Hudson Entertainment is now claiming that 1 million units have been shipped to date.
It's the Wiimote and its motion sensor that makes the Wii - we all know that.
But apparently Nintendo short changed all Wii owners with the existing Wiimote for cost reasons. The upcoming Wii MotionPlus sensor - which plugs into the Wiimote is supposed to correct that shortcoming. But it's going to cost us - the users.
In an interview with Venture Beat Nintendo America Chief Reggie Fils-Aime admits that the original motion sensor in the Wiimote was a cost compromise.
Wii MotionPlus is a great example of our approach to new technology. We were aware of that technology (the gryoscopic chips made by Invensense) at the time we designed the original Wii. But the cost would have been too high for the business model. It would have been unacceptable. By waiting about three years, the costs come down substantially and it becomes a viable product.
Frankly I'm not sold on the MotionPlus - then again none of us have seen in it action on a retail off the shelf game that is already shipping
Some old games just never die - they just keep coming back for new platforms.
Pitfall - first out years ago for the Atari 2600 and Intellivision is now out for the Wii. The game looks basic enough - but the Wiimote is the real difference and the thing that makes this version of Pitfall better than any other Pitfall in the last 25 years. Players get to perform all sorts of movements like swinging on vines, swimming in rivers, paddling a rafts, fighting quicksand, and punch-attack enemies.
10 mini games, which include Super Roll Bowling, Raft Water Race, and Torch Burning Contests are also part of the package. Ohh and for all of us retrogamers, the original Pitfall and Pitfall 2 are included.
Remember Midway's Ready to Rumble (originally on SEGA Dreamcast) just a great/fun comedic punch em up game -
Well it looks like EA has resurrected that type of fun - under a different name of course - with it's upcoming Facebreaker game for the Wii. Sure should be a lot of fun...game is due out on November 12th.
Sure every Wii owner already has bowling - part of Wii Sports - but that hasn't stopped other game publisher from trying to add more the Wii bowling experience.
The latest publisher to do so is Gameloft with their new Midnight Bowling release - available only as a download (800 points) from Nintendo WiiWare.
According to Gameloft, Midnight Bowling plunges players directly into the most hip, electric atmospheres around the world and delivers awesome playing sensations thanks to a new physics engine that precisely controls each throw and spin with the Wii Remote. Players can choose to challenge up to three friends or either immerse themselves in an exciting career mode where they face off against charismatic characters that will give them a run for your money.
If you liked Cooking Mama than you'll love Order Up for the Wii. Everyone that played this game has nothing but good things to say about it's playability.
You're making food in a series of challenges..as you move up you make more food, earn tips and move up the food ladder. Not too hard for young kids and still alot of fun for parent - or even ppl without kids too.
Sure Metroid Prime was 'neat' but the reality is that the Wii has lacked a real hardcore first person shooter...that is likely to change in 2009 with the expected release of The Conduit.
No official word yet on release date but the initial gameplay footage looks pretty frakin awesome.
Rock Band 2 is coming set for a November 18, 2008 release and it will include downloadable content as well as online game play!!
Online game play is the real kicker here ..it's what will really set this game apart from all others cause in the end it's competition that keeps a game fresh right?
It doesn't look like the hardware (guitar/mike/drums) are getting any upgrades though so existing Rock Band owners will just need the new disk and new game players can probably get the hardware on eBay at a discount. Check out this link on eBay for a few listings we've found (you can often find a full set of $100 or less).
Remember Tetris? It's another one of those classic games that just keeps coming back..this time it's coming back to the Wii with a downloadable came on WiiWare.
Tetris Party: This game will feature 18 game modes, including 10 never-before-seen single-player and multiplayer variations of Tetris. Some modes will use the unique capabilities of the Wii Remote and the Wii Balance Board - so you won't have to ruin your thumbs...
No it's not Guitar Hero or Rock Band - it's Wii Music!!
It sure looks like this title will be more Kid friendly and accessable overall than any other music title - and it doesn't require new peripherals so it won't be more expensive than a typical game either.
- Wii Music is a new Wii experience that launches on Oct. 20 and gives you the ability to play a wide variety of musical instruments by using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers to mimic the motions used to play real instruments. Everyone in the family will enjoy jamming together, while music fans will enjoy creating their own fresh, stylized takes on a variety of songs. Songs range from classical favorites like Beethoven's "Ode to Joy," to pop hits like "Material Girl" or "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" to Nintendo standards like the Super Mario Bros. theme.
The new Wii Speak Channel for the Nintendo Wii debuts on Nov. 16 and uses the Wii Speak, a microphone that sits on top of your television.
This accessory is set to be sold separately at an MSRP of $29.99.
People who buy the microphone are given a code that allows them to download the Wii Speak Channel from the Wii Shop Channel at no charge. The Wii Speak lets people in up to four locations who have traded Friend Codes chat with one another at no extra cost. When you use Wii Speak in real time, your Mii appears on your TV screen and mimics your chat. You also can leave audio messages for your friends and family members or use Wii Speak to narrate captions for your photos.
It'll be interesting to see if Wii Speak will also be integrated with games over time too like Teamspeak option.
Punch Out was one of our favorite games of all time on any Nintendo platform. We remember well fighting Mike Tyson to win it all...
Now 20 years + later Punch Out is going to make a come back on the Wii - YES!!
Sure..you can play the original NES version on the virtual console (but that doesn't take advantage of the wii's motion control).
Sure there is boxing on the main Wii Sports disc that we all have - but that's limited as we all know...
So finally a boxing game to reclaim the fun that the orginal PUnch Out had- big difference though is the obvious fact that now in 2008 there is no major boxing superstar that we all know...so I suppose the key will be to have historical boxing figures... Wii Directory
